So Ancestry.com exposed this information back in 2012, but it's only just come to our attention – mostly because pop star Justin Beiber decided to post pictures to Instagram yesterday of the very person, his apparent 'distant relation'.
So who is it?
Only THIS GUY...
Calm yourselves!
Research conducted by the geneology website four years ago, revealed Justin and Ryan [GOSLING, in the unlikely event you don't instantly recognise the ultimate Hollywood hunk] are 11th cousins once removed, and have family links dating as far back as 400 years, when Quebec's earliest settlers moved there from France.
All you read is true.
But whilst there is no indication Justin is aware of these familial ties, the 22-year-old is clearly in awe of his elder cuz nonetheless. Because not only did he post the snap above – captioned 'What a beast' (we AGREE) – but he also posted this one too...
Badass.
In both pictures, Ryan is on the set of his 2013 film The Place Beyond The Pines, where he starred as the motorbike stunt rider-turned-robber, Luke.
We're now waiting for Ryan to reply in some way, and if his response is anything like what he did with Macaulay Culkin and those t-shirts, we know we're in for a right treat.
