Whether throwing eggs at his neighbours house, getting married to Hailey Baldwin after just one month together, or being arrested for dangerous driving, Justin Bieber is no stranger to controversy.
But despite his history of wild behaviour, fans were still in shock after Justin defended Chris Brown on Instagram this week.
The singer took to the social media site to express his support for Rihanna's ex-boyfriend, comparing the rapper to Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur in a controversial post.
He wrote, "everyone wants to wait til people die To give them the credit they deserve. I’m calling it now when CB passes away after a long full life, you will miss what you had in front of you the whole time ... trust me watch you will see.
"the people who have over looked this mans talent because of a mistake he made.. you need to reevaluate! Love you @chrisbrownofficial".
While it's not clear which 'mistake' Justin is referring to, Chris' career took a nosedive after he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Then earlier this year, he was arrested in Paris after being accused of aggravated rape by a 24-year-old woman. The charges were later dropped.
Fans were quick to express their outrage at what Justin had said, with many leaving emotional comments on his post.
One follower raged, "HE ABUSED RIHANNA, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NOT A MISTAKE. THIS IS DISGUSTING".
Another added, "Unbelievable. Imagine if the girl who Chris Brown hit and choked was Hailey, your wife instead of Rihanna, or your sister, your mom, any woman you love. Will you still support him? Will you still think that was just a “mistake”. No man, respect all the woman’s and girls who had suffer domestically violence and follows you. I grew up listening your music, not anymore."
Of course Chris was over the moon to receive JB's support, and left his own comment thanking him for publicly praising him.
The singer wrote, "I LOVE YOU MAN! THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN ME. YOUR STAR SHINES SO BRIGHT AND YOUR HEART IS UNMATCHED! YOU ARE A KING BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY YOU WERE PUT HERE TO INSPIRE AND CREATE ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES BRO! IM WITH YA TILL THE WHEELS FALL OFF AND WHEN THEY DO ... WE GONE GET SOME NEW WHEELS".
