Renowned for her appearances in nineties classics Notting Hill and Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts has forever been our go-to for feel-good flicks. But now the actress is turning to the small screen.
The 49-year-old is set to star in her first ever television series. The show is based on author Maria Semple’s best-selling book, Today Will Be Different. The entire series will take place over just one day, as main character Eleanor Flood, played by Roberts, aims to tackle all the niggling life problems she’s been ferociously avoiding.
And Semple could not be happier about the casting as she told Variety,“I’m giddy that Eleanor Flood will be brought to life by Julia Roberts [...] This will be a fun ride!”
The TV adaptation for the series will be written by Semple, whilst Roberts will also exec produce the show.
And Roberts is not the only Hollywood actress to turn to the small screen. Meryl Streep is starring in The Nix from J.J Abrams whilst Emma Stone is making her debut in Netflix’s Maniac.
Bring on the duvet days.
