Last week it was announced that Lupita Nyong’o would be the new face of Lancôme, and today we got the news that Brit model Jourdan Dunn is to be the star of the new Maybelline New York campaign.

‘I am proud to say that I am a Maybelline girl and hopefully I can make people feel the same way I did when I saw the advertisements growing up. The brand imagery is always beautiful and positive. To now be a part of that is a dream come true!’ Dunn said in a statement.

Maybelline global brand president Jerome Bruhat said that Dunn truly reflects the brands vision of global beauty, and that she is perfect for the company. Dunn’s previously modelled in the beauty arena for Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent.

Both Lancôme and Maybelline have proven that the beauty business has come a long way when it comes to hiring women of color as campaign faces, and are surely paving the way for more diversity in the industry.
