JoJo Siwa has broken her silence on her breakup from partner Kath Ebbs and friendship with Chris Hughes after a dramatic weekend following leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Siwa took third place on the most recent series of the reality show, with Hughes finishing in sixth place. And the pair – who became very close friends during their time in the house – have now given their first joint interview since being back in the outside world.
Dance Moms star Siwa and Love Island finalist Hughes joined Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on the This Morning sofa to clarify the status of their relationship, with Siwa revealing what really went on with her partner Ebbs, who she dumped at the series’ wrap party.
What did JoJo Siwa say in her interview on This Morning?
Discussing her split from Ebbs, Siwa said, ‘The first thing you want to do when you get out is just exactly what you need to do in your life to make it as good as you can. I think I realised just how not great things were that I was pretending they were great, and it’s been hard, but it’s been good and I’m very happy with where I am now.’
Addressing breaking up with Ebbs at the show’s wrap party, she added, ‘I’ll be honest, that was not a plan, that was not an intention, that was not supposed to happen like that... I was genuinely just going to have a conversation before and then it just led to another. They straight up asked me if I was happy, and I said no. One thing led to another and that conversation did take place there.’

Siwa and Hughes say they are not dating, but failed to rule out whether they would enter a romantic relationship in the future.
Hughes said, ‘Our friendship is hard to explain, it’s a really strong bond between two people which is just a strong friendship. I think you can have a soulmate friendship, it’s that energy where it’s not the standard friendship you have with your friends but it’s still a friendship.’
Siwa added, ‘He’s a great guy, it is platonic, we had a lot of fun together. Life is life and I don’t know any future of anything. I’m really grateful for our bond that we have and whatever life does, life will do.’

Hughes found fame on Love Island in 2017, reaching the show’s final with Olivia Attwood. The pair stayed together for a little over a year before splitting.
