We had no idea she was even interested in acting, but since both her parents are thesps it makes sense that Lily-Rose Melody Depp would want to go down the performing route.
It’s not exactly a walk-on part; Lily-Rose and Harley Quinn-Smith are actually the main stars of the upcoming Yoga Hosers movie. Harley is the daughter of director Kevin Smith – famous for Clerks, Mallrats and a ton more great films.
The characters, both called Colleen—Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley) —are yoga-obsessed pals working at a convenience store in Canada when they encounter an ancient evil. The girls tackle the evil forces with the assistance of their expert yoga poses and a legendary man-hunter, played by Johnny Depp.
The film is the second in Smith’s True North trilogy, the first of which —Tusk—debuts at the Toronto Film Festival next month and is being categorised as a ‘comic-book movie’
‘People always ask me 'Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?'’ Kevin Smith told the Hollywood Reporter. ‘This is it — but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two 15-year-old girls.’
Um, it sounds totally brilliant and we can’t wait.
