Jodie Comer’s latest Instagram posts show the actress looking happy and healthy – if a little cold! – on an Irish beach. Like many of us, the Killing Eve star has sought relaxation in the natural world, and her images show the area’s natural beauty while attracting the attention of famous friends. In the comments, Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan says she would have 'brought ya for pints' if she'd known Jodie was in the country, while Ozark actress Julia Garner calls her a cutie. But while Jodie looks a picture of calm and natural beauty, it seems that it's not all play: a return to work is on the cards.
Jodie’s next role is in The Last Duel, Ridley Scott’s epic drama set in medieval France. But the film is actually being filmed in Ireland. After the global pandemic shut down operations in the spring, local reports explain that cast and crew are back in business.
According to Meath Chronicle – County Meath’s local paper – work is progressing on film sets, and hundreds of extras have been recruited in Dublin. Filming is set to take place in Dublin, Wicklow, Meath and Tipperary, and a local stretch of road will be closed between September 28th and October 6th to allow filming to take place. Jodie has a major role in the production and, therefore, may be expected to stay in Ireland in the coming weeks.

Jodie is not the only famous face to be involved: it stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Adam Driver. Matt, in particular, has made his mark in the country. He caused a sensation when he locked down in a rural cottage in Dalkey, near Dublin, regularly seen on walks and swimming in the bay. He even spoke to local radio station Spin 1038.
‘It feels like a fairytale’, he said. ‘When I first came in, people were saying: “Well, Bono lives over there, Enya lives over there.” It’s been incredible. This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been.’
Jodie has just won Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards but may have reason to celebrate further very soon. She is nominated for an Emmy in the Lead Actress in a Drama category at this week’s Emmys. Having taken the prize last year, she stands a pretty good shot. Good luck!
