Jessie J has revealed she has been diagnosed with early breast cancer age 37. The singer took to Instagram to share the sad news, telling her fans she was expecting to undergo surgery after her performance at Capital's Summertime Ball, a mini-festival at London's Wembley Stadium, later this month.

Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, said on Instagram that she had been 'in and out of tests' recently. 'Cancer sucks in any form, but I'm holding on to the word "early"' she said in a video message. 'It's a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music.'

What has Jessie J said about her breast cancer diagnosis?

Taking to Instagram, Jessie said she is going public with her diagnosis to help her process the news, and also for solidarity with anyone going through something similar. 'I just wanted to be open and share it,' she said. 'One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse – that’s the bit that kills me.'

She continued: 'The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time. But honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don’t want this to be any different.'

Famous faces and Jessie's fans took to Instagram to share their support for the singer. TV and radio presenter Gaby Roslin commented 'so much love and enormous hugs' while Rita Ora wrote 'You're literally my favourite person and I'm praying for you, you've got this.'

Does Jessie J have children?

Yes, Jessie has a son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman with her boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman. In an Instagram post last year to celebrate his 17-month birthday, Jessie wrote that everyone thinks her son is much older because of his height.

'We love being your Mum and Dad,' she wrote. 'You turned 17 months old yesterday and everyone thinks you are 3. My tall, charming hilarious smart gorgeous strong Sky. Nothing better than waking up to you everyday my son.'

What has Jessie J said about her health in the past?

Jessie has spoken openly about struggling with her health in the past. She was diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, had a minor stroke at 18 and briefly went deaf in 2020. She also suffered a miscarriage in November 2021. In an interview with The Mirror, she spoke about her miscarriage.

'You know, losing a child is the worst thing, and I hate that so many people go through it because it is such a difficult experience to get through,' she told the outlet.
