The John Lewis advert is always anticipated each year. This year, when Christmas parties are looking increasingly unlikely and we could be tucking into turkey and sprouts over Zoom, we don't really know what to expect from the ad. But we do know one thing: Jess Glynne is one of the names being considered to lend her vocals for the commerical.
Apparently, several artists have already recorded their potential tracks to be considered for the advert - and Jess is one of them, according to The Sun{
'The creative team behind it reckon Jess would be a great choice because she has such a distinctive voice,' a source said. 'But other artists have also recorded for it and a final decision is expected to be made in the next fortnight. Because it is such an important ad, it will all come down to how the song fits with the visuals when everything else is done.'
Last year's advert was sang by Bastille frontman Dan Smith, and in the past Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Elton John, Keane and Tom Odell have recorded covers for the ads.
We don't know for certain if Jess is going to do the honours, as John Lewis wouldn't confirm or deny the story toMetro. But a spokesperson told the website: ‘We are lucky enough to enjoy lots of speculation around our TV ads but we never comment because we want to keep the surprise.’ (Grazia have contacted Jess' reps for comment.)
