Jennifer Lawrence is stepping into the world of comedy with a new Netflix show called Don't Look Up. The series, which is directed and written by Adam McKay (Anchorman, The Big Short), will follow two astronomers who are trying to warn the world about an impending and fatal asteroid.
'I’m so thrilled to make this movie with Jen Lawrence,' Adam McKay said. 'She’s what folks in the 17th century used to call ‘a dynamite talent.’ And the fact that Netflix sees this movie as a worldwide comedy sets the bar high for me and my team in an exciting and motivating way.' Filming is due to start in April, with the series being released later this year.
The actress has another project in the works with Adam McKay. The film, entitled Bad Blood, will see J-Law play Elizabeth Holmes - the founder of Theranos, a controversial blood-testing company.
Jennifer's Netflix deal and upcoming film marks a new era for the actress, who has been taking a step back from acting (She was last seen on screen in the X Men franchise, Dark Phoenix). Jennifer has instead been taking some time for herself: she recently married Cooke Maroney in a wedding packed with A-list talent including, Cameron Diaz, Adele, Amy Schumer, Emma Stone, Sienna Miller, Kris Jenner – the list goes on, populating a reception as expertly curated as a wedding between a Hollywood actress and an art dealer should be. And, to keep everyone's privacy in tact, the couple reportedly banned phones from the ceremony.
The couple have kept their relationship relatively low-key, with Cooke keeping his Instagram on private mode. Of the 1969 people allowed to follow Cooke, two are Paris Hilton and The Fat Jewish. Cooke has been known to hang out with Stavros Niarchos, Paris's ex, and Carine Roitfeld's son, Vladimir Roitfeld.
