Jennifer Lawrence’s fascination with the Kardashians is one of her better-known peccadillos. She reportedly had a ‘Kardashian Kave’ on the set of recent psychological thriller mother!, where she would retreat to watch re-runs of the reality TV series and look at pictures of its stars, and was a guest of honour at Kris Jenner’s birthday.
So it must have been a dream come true for the Oscar winner when she got to interview the queen bee of the Kardashian klan – none other than Kim Kardashian herself – while appearing as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
There were no-holds-barred when it came to J-Law’s questioning, which expertly showed off her intimate knowledge of the Kardashians. Launching straight into it, her first question poked fun at Kim’s sex tape ex Reggie Bush, whose wife is a dead ringer for the reality star. ‘Do you think it’s a coincidence that Reggie Bush’s wife looks just like you? Because I don’t,’ she joked, barely skipping a beat.
Fan-girling to the extreme, Lawrence went on to ask her if Kardashian remembered when they had first met (at a hotel in New York) before asking her hard-hiting stuff, like ‘do you and Kanye fart in front of each other’ (Kardashian ‘doesn’t fart’) and ‘is Khloe in on you being subtly rude about her style?’.
But the funniest moment comes when Lawrence interrogates Kardashian over her surrogacy, asking her if she was ever a serious contender. ‘How did you pick your surrogate and why didn’t you ask me? Was I even in the conversation?’ she asks.
Other tit-bits we learnt: when Lawrence went round for dinner at Kris Jenner’s house, it was the drunkest that Kardashian had ever seen her mum, who is frequently shown on the show with a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc in hand. Oh, and Kanye doesn’t have a passcode or photos on his phone.
