As news broke this morning that Donald Trump has been elected 45th President of the United States, many female A-listers including Katy Perry and Lorde have expressed their dismay and disbelief that a man who has likened women to ‘slobs’ and ‘fat pigs’ will be moving into the White House next year.

In other shocking news? In a bid to encourage students to vote Jennifer Lawrence FaceTimed students at Duke University in North Carolina in exchange for votes for this year’s US presidential election.

Although the 26-year-old actress shuns all form of social media, it was actually thanks to her new boyfriend, 47-year-old filmaker Darren Aronofsky, that students on campus had some rare one-on-one time with the Hollywood star.

‘Just casually FaceTimed with Jennifer Lawrence. Darren Aronofsky is the man,’ one college student wrote on Twitter while showing a photo of Darren holding up his mobile phone to show JLaw smiling, wearing what appears to be a white bathrobe. Another user tweeted: 'When Jennifer Lawrence's boyfriend is on campus bribing students to go vote in exchange for a FaceTime with her.'

The Black Swan director - who supported Hillary Clinton throughout her campaign – was in North Carolina on election day, posting: ‘History will be made in #northcarolina. join me tomorrow at DUKE university chapel 1130-5pm to get a ride to the polls #dukevotes #imwithher.’

While Donald Trump beat Hillary in the election, her supporters on Twitter (and Hunger Games fans) are now rallying together...
