Jennifer Lawrence is officially engaged, her representatives have confirmed.
Her husband-to-be is one Cooke Maroney, a 34-year-old New York gallery dealer. The pair are said to have first met when a mutual friend, Laura Simpson (Jennifer's plus one at many a Hollywood awards ceremony) introduced them to each other. They've been dating for a total of 8 months, having first met in June 2018.
The engagement news came shortly after the actress had been spotted on a night out at a French restaurant in Manhattan sporting what onlookers called a ‘massive ring’, reports the New York Post’sPage Six. Another source told Harper’s Bazaar they’d seen J-Law wearing ‘a giant rock’ on her wedding ring finger.
Perhaps running out of new ways to describe a big old chunk of bling, the source added: ‘They seemed like they were celebrating and people were talking about it.
‘The ring was very noticeable. They were sitting back in a corner.’
The wedding date has not been announced, but it will likely be a low-key affair, as Lawrence has retreated a little bit of late, taking a break from the limelight to focus on political activism such as turning up to the Women's March with Adele and Cameron Diaz. We also imagine the event will draw a pretty high-profile crowd.
Of the 1969 people allowed to follow Cooke on his private Instagram account, so they can see his whopping 260 posts (maybe he’s a Stories kind of guy?), two are Paris Hilton and The Fat Jewish. Might the American Meme stars get a wedding invite? Cooke has also (look above at the photo!) been known to hang out with Stavros Niarchos, Paris's ex, and Carine Roitfeld's son, Vladimir Roitfeld.
On Jennifer's side of the aisle, we could also expect to see Bradley Cooper, who Jennifer acted alongside in Silver Linings Playbook, a role for which she won an Oscar, and American Hustle. Emma Stone is also a great friend of Jennifer's, with the latter recently telling W magazine: 'We just scream at each other. We're both hoarse after we hang out—us, oh my god. I can't imagine what it must be like for other people. We should never hang out, only with each other.'
Jennifer's engagement comes after a dating history including mother! collaborator, director Darren Aronofsky, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and her X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult.
