Jennifer Lawrence has split from boyfriend Darren Aronofsky after a year of dating, *People *magazine has confirmed.
The pair met on the set of the film Mother! last September but kept their relationship fiercely private and out of the public eye. The couple, who are 22 years apart in age, were only spotted together on a handful of occasions, and while on the promotional tour for the film they were only pictured together once - at the New York premiere.
Prior to their relationship Lawrence dated Nicholas Hoult and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, while Aronofsky was engaged to Rachel Weisz, and the pair share a son.
In October Grazia reported that there wasindustry wide pressure for Lawrence to break up with Aronofsky following his controversial behaviour on set. Stars including Natalie Portman and Emma Watson have previously spoken out about Aronofsky and his bizarre actions including banning bottled water for cast and crew.

‘Lots of people in Hollywood are happy that Jen has started to realise that she’s better off without him. He has a reputation of being quite bullish with his cast, and was no different with Jen on set. It certainly wasn’t a healthy relationship at this point, and many in Hollywood were wondering what Jen was doing taking part in it all,’ a source told Grazia.
‘It feels like they’re fizzling out. Jen went from being Hollywood’s hottest young actress to becoming almost a recluse, living with Darren and collaborating on a movie that was her worst box-office result. The odds were stacked against them: they were never going to be a golden couple of Hollywood,’ another source added.
