One of the absolute highlights of this year's awards season? Jennifer Coolidge - who has delivered some of our favourite red carpet moments and most memorable acceptance speeches. Along with the rest of The White Lotus cast - who have clearly been thoroughly enjoying themselves as they party their way through the awards circuit - J Cool is having A Moment, as she sweeps up the accolades for her performance as the inimitable Tanya McQuoid (aka one of the best characters on TV, ever).

She delighted viewers with her speech at The Golden Globes, where she won winning Best Actress in a Limited Series, and did it again last night at the SAG Awards, taking the trophy for Female Actor in a Drama Series. After Austin Butler helped her to the stage, she made a heartfelt speech, which included a tribute to her 'amazing' parents and the story of how her father sneaked her out of school to go to a film festival, which is when she fell in love with acting.

'I went to the [principal's] office, and she said, "Your father’s here." And my father was standing there, and he goes, "Yeah Jenny, we have to go," and the principal said, "Get well, Jenny," and I didn’t know what that meant.

'And I got in the car with my dad, and he was driving, and he said, "I’m never gonna tell a lie again, but we’re going somewhere really cool." And he drove me to this place, and it was this flooky thing in Massachusetts. It was the Charlie Chaplin film festival.

'Seeing Charlie Chaplin for the first time and having that experience, my love of film, my love of actors, all of that came from my first grade.'

In true Jennifer Coolidge style, she rounded of her tearful speech with a shout out to her date for the night, the actor Tim Bagley, and her friend of 20 years, joking, 'Thank you, you’re a wonderful date tonight. I can’t wait until we get home.' (Bagley is openly gay).

With no TV categories in the Oscars, it's likely we'll have to wait until this year's Emmys in September to see Ms Coolidge make another acceptance speech - although here's hoping the Oscar producers have the sense to give her a presenting slot.
