Thanks to Netflix, we're still obsessing over Friends. Yes, that’s even though it ended in 2004. And Jennifer Aniston keeps on fuelling the fire. You’ll remember that she sent the internet wild when she joined Instagram in October, with her first photo being a selfie with the Friends crew.
And now she’s had another reunion with her on-screen BFFs Monica (Courteney Cox) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). Sharing a sweet snap on Instagram, where the women are posing in front of a wall of wine bottles, Jen wrote, 'Hi from the girls across the hall.’ And, obviously, Instagram was overwhelmed again - raking up over 7.6million likes in 12 hours. Actor Juliette Lewis commented on the pic, 'I love these pictures so much. Sigh.'
They might have simply been relaxing, however, it was reported in November that the all-star cast were in talks to return for a reunion special. Excitingly, The Hollywood Reporter reported that creators David Crane and Marta Kaufman and that Jen, Lisa, Courteney, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were all on board with the idea. It’s believed the reunion would be unscripted - however, no plot specifics were revealed.
Even though it’s now moved to HBO Max, the show was overwhelmingly popular on Netflix, with the streaming service reportedly paying between $80 million and $100 million to keep the show for 2019. In fact, the show ranked as the second most streamed show on Netflix with 32.6 billion minutes, behind The Office with 52.08 billion minutes.
