In case you needed a reminder, Jennifer Aniston has proved why it's so important to wear a mask in public. The actress shared a heartbreaking photo on Instagram yesterday, which showed one of her friends, Kevin, battling Covid-19 in hospital while attached to a ventilator.

'This is our friend Kevin,' Jennifer wrote alongside the photo. 'Perfectly healthy, not one underlying health issue. This is Covid. This is real.' She continued, 'We can't be so naive to think we can outrun this...if we want this to end, and we do, right? The one step we can take is PLEASE #wearadamnmask. Just think about those who've already suffered through this horrible virus. Do it for your family. And most of all yourself. Covid affects all ages.'

Thankfully, the Friends star said that her friend had now almost made a full recovery. She added, 'PS this photo was taken in early April. Thank god he has almost recovered now. Thank you all for your prayers.'

Over the past few weeks, as coronavirus cases spiral in the US, celebrities like Jen, Reese Witherspoon and Octavia Spencer have been campaigning for people to #wearadamnmask.

But it's important over here too, as a previous study by YouGov found that only 31 per cent of British people were wearing masks. Even though face masks are already required on public transport, we've all probably seen people who have ignored the regulations (and given them a bit of a stare). In the UK, face masks are going to become obligatory in shops from July 24 - check out our guide of where to buy the best ones here{ =nofollow}.
