Jennifer Aniston has claimed Harvey Weinstein ‘bullied’ her into wearing his then-wife Georgina Chapman's fashion brand Marchesa to a film premiere. The actress - who starred in 2005’s Derailed which was distributed by The Weinstein Company - has now recalled the incident in an interview withVariety{ =nofollow}.

'I remember, right when [his ex-wife] Georgina's clothing line Marchesa{ =nofollow}was starting. That's when he came to visit me in London while we were shooting,' Aniston told the site. 'He'd be like, "OK, so I'd like you to wear one of these to the premiere." And I went through the book, and at the time, it wasn't what it is today. It was not for me.’

But Jen says the producer wouldn’t take no for an answer.

She added, 'He was like, "You have to wear the dress." That was my only bullying. And I was like, "No, I will not wear the dress."'’ However, the Dumplin’ star did not relent, adding that she didn’t wear a gown from the brand, adding, ‘Well, what was he going to do? Come over here and make me wear it?!'

Last year, Scarlett Johansson was heavily criticised by many for choosing to wear Marchesa to the Met Gala 2018, as the allegations against Weinstein loomed large. (There were many others who pointed out that a woman should not be held responsible for her husband's heinous actions, particularly when Chapman maintains she had no idea about her husband's alleged behaviour.) Chapman herself made her return to the red carpet at this year's Met Gala, alongside Constance Wu.

In October 2017, The New York Times and The New Yorker reported that dozens of women accused Weinstein of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse over a period of at least thirty years. Over eighty women in the industry have since accused Weinstein of such acts. Weinstein has denied 'any non-consensual sex.'
