A few weeks ago, we told you that Jem and The Holograms– the epic 80s cartoon series in which professional woman Jerrica Benton turns into a sick neon pink wearing rocker by night – is getting made into a film.

In case you missed it the first time round Jem and The Holograms is pretty much the reason why any girl coming of age in the 80s wanted to get into a band (or have pink hair), and our excitement has just reached fever pitch because the cast of the film has just been announced on the film’s Tumblr page. We know.

So, starring as Jem (or Jerrica Benton) will be Nashville actress Aurbrey Peoples, which will be the 20 year-olds first major film role. She’ll be joined by Disney star Stefanie Scott, Pretty Little Liars actress Aurora Perrineau and Haley Kiyoko from The Fosters.

Ok, so we it’s not exactly an A-list cast but we bet that, with the hype that’s surrounding the remake , we bet the cast are bound to be household names by this time next year. Watch this space.
