Iggy Azalea Gets A Boob Job And We’re Really Not Sure How To Feel

It's great that Iggy has gone public about her surgery, but is it great that she got it? Is that even our judgment call to make?

Iggy Azalea Gets A Boob Job And We're Really Not Sure How To Feel

When it comes to plastic surgery, we’re unsure how to feel. A disproportionate amount of women get it in order to look closer to a really narrow definition of what beauty is. But then, again, if someone feels unhappy about the way they look and have the power to change it, then why should we judge them for that?

That’s what we’re currently tussling with now that Iggy Azalea's gone public about her boob job.

When asked by US Vogue if she’d change anything about her body, she replied: ‘I did change something. Four months ago, I got bigger boobs! I’d thought about it my entire life’

She also explained why she wanted to go public about the surgery: ‘I decided I wasn’t into secret-keeping’.

On the one hand, it’s totally great that Iggy’s gone public about it. Any young fans looking to her for inspiration, looks-wise, will now know that part of her figure isn’t naturally achieved and so might set aside any quest to emulate her. And also, it’s her money going into her body and it’s great that she feels no shame in that.

But then, there’s a sort of disappointment; if someone as naturally attractive and desired as Iggy Azalea feels she needs surgery to improve herself, what hope does that give Joe Public, who maybe don’t have the money to get the surgeries they so desire?

As long as there’s cosmetic surgery, there should be some sort of brain surgery to help us get our heads around how to feel about it…or maybe that's exactly what we don't need. Oh help us, we're confused!
