In some good nostalgic news: Hugh Grant has said he's still friends with Renée Zellweger, admitting Renée 'is one of the few actresses he hasn't fallen out with'. The actor, who played sleazy Daniel Cleaver in the Bridget Jones franchise, has said he still regularly exchanges long emails with Renée. 'I love Renée,' he said, speaking SiriusXM's The Jess Cagle Show. 'She's one of the few actresses I haven't fallen out with. And, we, we got on very well together and, we still exchange long emails.'

And apparently Renée is quite a writer. 'Hers in particular, at least 70 pages each, interesting stuff, but quite hard to decipher,' he said, describing her emails. 'She's a properly good egg and a genius. Did you see her Judy Garland? About as good as acting gets.' (Hugh wasn't the only person who thought so - Renée's performance in the film won her the Golden Globe Award, SAG Award, BAFTA Award, and the Academy Award for Best Actress.)

Speaking about the Daniel, who was in on/off relationship with Bridget in the first two films, Hugh said he related to the character: 'I quite enjoyed playing Daniel, I related to him. He's a disappointed man who was in publishing and always wanted to write his own book but hadn't. With all that going on, I think I created a fascinating back story to him - none of which come through in the final performance.'

Hugh has previously suggested in a 2009 interview that his on-screen lovers Julianne Moore, and Rachel Weisz 'loathe' and 'despise' him..
