Our favourite moment at last night’s BAFTAs, without a doubt, was Hugh Grant congratulating Renée Zellweger on her best actress win in true Daniel Cleaver style - with a ‘well done Jones’ and a nod to her ‘very silly little dress’. It was all the Bridget Jones nostalgia we needed. And Renée - aka Bridget - thought so too.
‘It was pretty cool,’ she said, speaking to Grazia at the winners press conference. ‘As a matter of fact, when I was talking about this being really, really special, it makes you feel like you’re one of the gang. And it’s quite a gang to be a part of. And I appreciate that. And I’m very grateful for that.'
‘I have so many wonderful memories in this town,' she added. 'I got a text from a best friend yesterday, saying whatever she said, good luck, and she said, “You always look so happy when you’re in London.” And she’s right.’
At the ceremony, Renée looked resplendent in Pat McGrath make-up and a pink Prada column dress. She accessorised the vintage look with bold diamond and gold art-Deco-style bangles and rings. Look below for the best of the red carpet looks at last night’s ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall.
