It's been three long years since One Direction went on indefinite hiatus, with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson calling time on everyones favourite boy band after Zayn Malik parted ways with the group in 2015.

With the former The X Factor contestants launching solo careers, welcoming children and starring in memorable Gucci campaigns in the years since we bid farewell to 1D, we had almost given out hope of a One Direction reunion.

But Christmas has come early, and Hits Radio is getting (some of) the band back together, with Tomlinson AND Payne slated to appear at this years Hits Live event in Manchester on November 17th.

With Hits Live taking place in Liverpool (Friday, November 15th), Birmingham (Saturday the 16th) and Manchester (attention Directioners, this is the one for you) on the Sunday the station is pulling together an incredible weekend with some of the biggest artists in music.

Tomlinson and Payne will join a star-studded line up in Manchester which includes Mark Ronson, Tom Walker and Mabel. In Birmingham, fans will get a chance to see Lewis Capaldi, Rita Ora and everyone's favourite Love Island guest star Craig David while James Arthur, John Newman, Jax Jones and Freya Ridings are all confirmed for the lineup in Liverpool.
