As the shockwaves of Harry and Meghan's bombshell announcement continue to be felt, there are lots of reports claiming that Harry and his brother William are battling to find a resolution. The pair are in crisis talks with father Prince Charles and their grandmother the Queen, but they have already agreed on one thing.
This morning, they issued a joint statement. 'Despite clear denials, a false story ran in a UK newspaper today speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the the Duke of Cambridge', it read. 'For brothers who care so deeply about the issues surrounding mental health, the use of inflammatory language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful.'
Monday's The Times had reported that Harry and Meghan felt that they had been obliged to step back due to a William's 'bullying', but the statement itself did not name the publication or the specific story.
There is, however, a definite shift in their close relationship. William was quoted by The Sunday Times as saying: 'I’ve put my arm around my brother all our lives and I can’t do that any more; we’re separate entities.' And only last year, Harry said that he and William are now 'on different paths' and had 'good days' and 'bad days' in their relationship.
The statement was followed hours after by news from Justin Trudeau, prime minister of Canada. According to The Evening Standard, Trudeau has informed the Queen that Canada will foot the bill for Harry and Meghan's security if they do choose the country as their new home.
Meghan has certainly got off to a good start: she will provide the voiceover for a new Disney film about elephants.
