In yet another promo video where Harry Styles looks pretty bored, he’s said something very interesting. This time it’s about sexuality.
The One Direction star was being asked a bunch of fans’ questions via an interviewer at Ode, the online haranguing of their favourite singer fast-tracked through Twitter to the ears of the tousle-haired grump-bag. Oh, and Liam Payne was there, too.
One of the questions was: ‘Four favourite traits you look for in a girl?’
The interviewer read out ‘girl’ as ‘lady’ and did a little shimmy, then Liam piped up with ‘female…it’s a good trait.’
Then Harry shook his head and sneered, sighing and throwing his hand up before saying: ‘Not that important’.

You might be the billionth person to view the video, too, as it’s the latest piece of evidence being used by Larry Stylinson shippers (who think Harry is going out with One Direction colleague Louis Tomlinson but that One Direction’s shady Management are keeping it from the public).
Here’s how they’ve taken Harry’s comments:
Though Harry has previously said he isn’t bisexual, eager Directioners want to pick apart what he really meant here. There are a lot of people blogging and tweeting about Larry Stylinson along with porn clips intercut with images of the boys, some which we figure might not have come from One Direction’s tween fanbase.

But there are also a load of kids who seem to just be genuinely excited that Harry has said that gender isn’t important when it comes to dating someone. Because it’s yet another example of him making sure that he doesn’t talk about ‘girls’ or ‘women’ but ‘people’. If it’s not a gay thing, it could just be that he sees girls as people too.
Earlier this week, Jessie J, one of the few pop stars who’s previously professed a sexuality that’s not the norm (bisexuality), sealed the deal on her new-found straight status (she came ‘in’ earlier this year, saying her bisexuality was a ‘phase’) by uploading to Instagram a picture of her and her new boyfriend, along with the caption: ‘My man. My crush. My Monday morning. So it’s only right.’

One girl commented underneath summed up some of the disappointment felt at Jessie's in-ing: ‘I thought you were a lesbian, heartbroken.’
Now, there’s really little chance that Harry or Jessie (or even Liam) are intent on dating a fan at any point. And their sexuality is their own orientation which certainly shouldn't bend to fit fans’ wishes. But when a famous person says, out loud, that gender doesn’t matter when falling in love, it’s just kind of sweet. Sweeter than those Larry Stylinson Vines we just stumbled upon, for sure.
