As two of the most successful men in music, Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran have a lot in common. The two pop stars rose to fame together in the early 2010s – Harry as a member of One Direction, Ed as the indie singer responsible for 'The A Team' – and have both gone on to be chart-smashing solo musicians. They're so close, they even have matching tattoos.
But back in 2015, Ed proved that he might know Harry a little too well. During an interview with New Zealand-based website ZM Online, one fan asked Ed if the 1D song 'Little Things' was 'written about One Direction’s little things', if you catch their drift. As the writer of 'Little Things', Ed would know...
Luckily Ed saw the funny side and chuckled in response, before discussing a leaked photo that was circulating online at the time allegedly of Harry Styles’ manhood. 'Did you know Harry leaked that picture himself?' he said. 'He leaked his own picture… I think that’s amazing. He was just, like, "No one knows, so I’m just gonna tell them."'
Ed added in the interview, as per The Mirror: ‘[Harry] definitely hasn't got a little thing, so no, I did not write "Little Things" about little things.’ It's worth noting that Harry's camp always denied that the photo was of him.
At the time, many fans pointed out that it was good to see Ed finally being cool with people’s right to bare a little skin. Back when Miley Cyrus shocked and awed everyone by twerking at the VMAs, Ed said, ‘I think encouraging young people to twerk might be a bad thing… it’s a stripper move.’ But after apologising, saying, ‘I was a bit of a c*nt. I do feel bad about it, as I’d be f*cking livid if someone said that about me,’ it seems he’s OK with people getting nude!
In 2021, Ed revealed that when it came to his own nudity, he valued privacy. The musician said that, because he was worried people were always trying to see his private parts when he used urinals, he was a cubicle-only guy. 'There will be 20 urinals and I will stand at an end one and someone will come and stand right next to me just to have a look. So my rule is, I usually don’t,' he said.
The more you know, eh?
