While the other members of One Direction have been busy releasing new music, having children and dating supermodels, Harry Styles has maintained something of a social media silence in the wake of the band's musical hiatus.
Indeed, while his fellow boy band members Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson have all made their debuts as solo artists, Styles has been pursuing a career as an actor, starring in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk, due for release in July this year.
Of course, there was no doubt that Styles would eventually release new material - after all, he's always been the most popular member of the group - but until now he's remained tight-lipped on just when that would happen.
Last night, during the new series of The Voice, he did what we are affectionately dubbing 'an Adele'. Remember when the songstress announced her new album and single 'Hello' with a simple tease clip during the ad breaks of the X Factor? Well the floppy-haired popstar just took a leaf out of her book and did the same - albeit on the rival show.
The 30-second clip shows a dripping wet man later revealed to be Styles walking through a corridor towards the light before the date 'April 7' appears on screen.
Of course, Twitter went into melt down over the news, which coincided with band mate Liam Payne's announcement that he had welcomed his first child with girlfriend Cheryl.
What's more, both announcements came exactly 2 years to the day since Zayn left the band. Coincidence? We'll let you decide.
