If it’s been said once, it’s been said a thousand times but there’s no denying that Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding this May was a sight to behold. Press Association Images agreed and two stunning photographs from the event of the year have been featured on their Twitter account as their favourite pictures of 2018.
The two photos that made the cut also made a splash on social media. One breath-taking photo taken by Danny Lawson shows Meghan walking down the aisle of St George’s Chapel to meet Prince Harry. The way the sun illuminated Meghan’s Givenchy wedding gown caused many commenters to compare the photo to a Renaissance painting.
The second photo featured was taken as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the chapel in an Ascot Landau and rode along the Long Walk to their wedding reception. Yui Mok’s birds-eye view showed the newlyweds holding hands, their heads turned towards the crowds that lined the route. Meghan’s 16ft veil is gathered around her.
There were of course some other stunning images. The first reveal of the dress and veil as Meghan stood on the steps of the chapel. The first kiss, of course. Shout out to the brilliant photographers who immortalised the day with these beautiful photos.
