Harrison Ford and his wife Calista Flockhart made a rare public appearance at Cannes Film Festival. The 80-year-old Indiana Jones star beamed alongside his wife as they held hands and walked the red carpet for the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny which he stars in alongside – new to the franchise – Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Fans were thrilled to see the spark is very much still alive between the pair in a cute behind-the-scenes Instagram post which showed Harrison in awe of his wife's beauty. Red carpet stylist Elizabeth Stewart shared a snap of Calista, 58, posing in her Zuhair Murad and Harrison could be seen poking his head around the door to check out his hot wife.

One fan wrote, 'Get someone who looks at you the way Harrison is looking at Calista in that second pic!', another commented, 'Harrison’s look peering in the room is priceless', and a third wrote, 'They actually don't age!'

The couple – who are 22 years apart in age – have been married for 13 years, after meeting at the 2002 Golden Globe Awards. Reports initially said that the Ally McBeal star had intentionally spilled wine on Harrison in order to get his attention, but in a 2003 interview she clarified, 'We were having a conversation for maybe 20 minutes before the wine spilled, and the truth is, Harrison spilled the wine.'

A year into their relationship, Harrison gushed over Calista, admitting, 'I'm in love. Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life. I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn't surprised that I did.'

And while the pair have faced criticism for their two-decade age gap, Calista herself revealed it wasn't ever a problem for the couple.

'It doesn’t faze me,' she explained in a previous interview. 'It doesn’t factor into our relationship at all. I like the way he looks first thing in the morning. It’s not handsome, it’s more cute. He looks like a little boy.'

Harrison proposed to Calista in 2009 after seven years of dating and they married a year later in Santa Fe, Mexico. Harrison also adopted Calista's son, Liam, now 22, whom she had adopted at birth.

In a 2010 interview, he described adopting Liam as an 'unexpected joy'.

'The unexpected part was certainly true,' he said in the chat. 'And the joy part is also true. I think Liam was about 6 or 8 months old when I met him and Calista. We have been together ever since. On the weekends, I do whatever Calista and Liam want to do. We’ll take a couple of hours on Sunday morning to go motorcycle riding or go for a hike. I just made a birdhouse with my son.'

Perhaps the key to their enduring relationship is the fact that the couple are relatively private, often shunning the spotlight and avoiding interviews. However, in 2020, Harrison – who has been married twice before – opened up a little about his marriage.

Admitting his secret to a long-lasting happy marriage, the actor quipped, 'don't talk', and added to that sound advice, 'nod your head'.
