There’s been a lot of high-profile pregnancies and births of late – from fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni (aka The Blonde Salad) giving birth to a baby boy, Leoncino last week, to Kylie Jenner’s daughter Stormi Webster causing quite the stir back in February.

With now almost four months of baby-naming under 2018’s belt, there’s finally some details on which are the top baby names of the year so far. BabyCentre have done some digging and produced a nice little list of the top hitters.

Perhaps surprisingly, Meghan hasn’t made the girls’ list, though we suspect next year’s list will tell quite a different story. Other famous names have featured though – Charlotte reigns at number nine, while Harper’s number eight spot is no doubt inspired by Victoria Beckham’s youngest child.

The number one and two spots haven’t changed from last year, Emma and Olivia ruling the roost, followed closely by Ava, Isabella, Sophia, Mia and Amelia. Also weirdly, eight out of ten of the names for girls end in the letter A, clearly a letter and sound Britons have developed a real penchant for.

The boys’ list doesn’t feature any royal names either, with a much more biblical and historical influence instead. The top spot went to Liam for the second year running, followed by Noah, Logan, Oliver, Mason, Lucas, Ethan, Elijah, Aiden and James.
