Potter fans all over the world rejoiced last weekend when Ron, Luna, Neville and the rest of the gang reunited at Universal Studios in Florida (apart from Harry and Hermoine who were otherwise engaged - probably in a mad game of Quidditch).
The three-day long fan event involved fans nabbing a special sneak look at the HP prequel, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’. As well as surprising some very, very excitable (obsessive?) fans and posing for some great Potter family Instagram snaps, the four actors shed some light on where they imagine their magical alter-ego would be today after entertainment journalist, Aaron Sagers, posed the following question:
‘If J.K. asked you where you'd like your character to be off to, what would you say? According to their alias’, here’s what lies ahead for Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang…
Ron’s On Tinder
And not having much luck apparently. Rupert Grint reckons he’s set up camp in a Kings’ Cross bachelor pad following a quickee divorce from Hermoine. The actor doesn’t reveal the marital difficulties, but seeing as Ron is ‘living on his own, doing nothing’ and ‘hasn’t got a job’, we can only assume that the separation was most likely Hermoine’s call. Poor Ron.

Evanna Lynch (aka Luna Lovegood) sees her future self as a budding wildlife adventurer, celebrating the mystical beauty of every one of her imaginary creatures - including Aquarius Maggots. Evanna has high hopes for her girl, guessing that she’ll have her own television show and revel in her life as a ‘naturalist’. Naturalist, not ‘naturist’, btw. ‘Everyone is so dubious of her’, Evanna said, ‘i’d like her to show they’re [her creatures] are real’. So kinda like David Attenborough on Acid…
Cho’s A Badass Property Developer Who’s After Ron’s Box Flat
Yep, Cho Chang has ‘cried all the tears she could cry and now she's become real cold and heartless.' Well, that’s what Katie Leung, the actress who plays her thinks. Cold, ruthless but ridiculously successful, Cho’s future is less about pining after adolescent wizards and more about bulldozing the shit out of non-profitable property. In particular, Ron’s shitty little studio apparently.
Neville’s That Teacher Everyone Fancies
Neville Longbottom (or Matt Lewis) is still where we left him - a Professor of Herbology at Hogwarts. However, he’s not just any old dithering, balding Professor with terrible Butterbeer breath… HE’S REALLY FUCKING HOT. Naturally, he’s the hunk of Hogwarts who is, not only dashing and moustachey, but he’s also a pretty lovely chap. What with his best pal Ron (he picked a side, soz Hermoine) being a little hard-up, he’s trying his best to help his ‘man’ out. Ron’s not making it easy for poor, old Nev, though.
‘He keeps throwing it back in his [Neville’s] face’, says the actor, Matt Lewis, ‘he’s like, I don’t need your help Neville, jesus, just leave it’. Classic Weasley.
And considerate, charming Nev won’t give up easy on his old, useless friend - ‘I’ll get you in as the caretaker of the school, man. Don’t worry about it.'
Don’t know about you, but I think that’s another book right there. Or MAYBE A SIMS GAME? Or maybe (hopefully) a Neville Longbottom movie… swoons.
