I have a complicated relationship with the Internet. There are days when I feel like it's ruining my life, keeping me tied to a screen and preventing me from doing anything of actual worth IRL. And then, there are those days when you stuble across something you didn't even know exitsed which has been preserved, indefinitely, in the giant and sprawling collection of everything that is the World Wide Web.
Last night as I scrolled through my Facebook feed I stumbled across video posted by online radio station NTSand the trajectory of my evening was changed completely.
The video was a 25-minute long film of Mel B (aka Scary Spice) interviewing the one and only genius Prince at his Paisley Park home and studio in 1998. Apparently Prince, who hadn't spoken in public for a while, was sick of journalists asking him the same questions so he flew Mel B over to the States and gave her free reign to 'ask him anything'.
There is nothing that isn't excellent about this. During their conversation Prince says it is 'the best interview' he's 'ever had'.
There's nothing else to say. This video speaks for itself.
Watch it, you won't regret it:
