Belgian model and street style star Hanne Gaby Odiele married boyfriend John Swiatek this week in probably the most ‘fashion’ wedding ever. The pair, who previously appeared together in an Alexander Wang campaign, got engaged in Puerto Rico last year but chose upstate New York for their ceremony.
The usually tranquil mountainous region of the Catskills probably didn’t know what had hit it when the couple arrived with an entourage consisting of some of the most beautiful people you’ve ever seen, all wearing fashion-forward ensembles us mere mortals can only dream of.
Hanne wore a Red Riding Hood-esque silk cape to walk up the aisle, before removing her hood to reveal an ivory bralet top and cargo trousers, layered with a sheer lace slip on top – designed by close friend Alexander Wang for Balenciaga.
Her supermodel bridesmaids Anna Ewers, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Martha Hunt and Kasia Struss went barefoot in lavender silk slip dresses, with tousled hippy chic hair. Meanwhile, the groomsmen accessorised their suits with trainers and sunnies.
A wooden tepee draped with greenery was where the vows took place, while the aisle was lined with glass jars filled with flowers and tied to wooden poles.
The reception took place in a barn festooned with fairylights and a chandelier, surrounded by hay bales.
It wasn’t all ethereal dreaminess though – earlier in the day the bridal party unleashed their wild side, arriving in pink Paris Hilton-style Juicy Couture tracksuits and cowboy boots, but somehow still managing to make it look high fashion. How does she do it?!
Later in the evening, guests were given sparklers and cosied up in a 90s style photo booth, where they posed with candyfloss coloured wigs and various items from what looked like a well-stocked dressing up box.
Looks like Hanne and John just upped the game when it comes to #weddinggoals….
