Netflix’s new ten-part psychological thriller Gypsy is set to fill the [Big Little Lies](big little lies grazia)-shaped void in your viewing schedule, if this brand-new trailer is anything to go by.

The latest major star to make the leap from big screen to small is Oscar nominee Naomi Watts, who takes the lead as Jean Halloway. Working as an upscale New York therapist, her ethics become seriously compromised when she begins to embark on illicit relationships with the people in her patients’ lives, collapsing the boundaries between her personal and professional lives and sabotaging her picturesque family set-up with husband Michael (played by Billy Crudup).

Joining Hollywood heavyweights Watts and Crudup are a clutch of new talents, including Sing Street’s Lucy Boynton (ahead of her role in Kenneth Branagh’s star-studded adaptation of Murder On The Orient Express), Karl Glusman (who you might recognise from Nocturnal Animals and The Neon Demon) and Kingsman’s Sophie Cookson.

Gypsy isn't just showcasing brilliant female talent on-screen, but also behind the camera: the show was written by exciting new voice Lisa Rubin (her first major TV show) with episodes directed by Fifty Shades of Grey's Sam Taylor Johnson. Naomi Watts also joins Rubin, Liza Chasin and Sean Jablonski on exec producer duties.

All ten episodes of Gypsy are set to arrive on Netflix on June 30th. In the mean time, you can watch the trailer below...
