Fresh from her luxurious hen weekend in Mexico, it’s now rumoured that Gwyneth Paltrow might have married fiancé Brad Falchuk over the weekend, after the couple threw an ‘engagement party’ attended by some of Hollywood’s most famous faces.

Gwyneth and TV producer Falchuk hired out the Los Angeles Theatre on Saturday night, ostensibly for a black tie party celebrating their impending wedding. The actress and wellness entrepreneur was photographed arriving at the venue in a burgundy one-shouldered gown with ruffled detailing around the neckline and a side cut-out, as seen on the catwalk at Giambattista Valli’s spring/summer couture show, also wearing her blue engagement ring.

She was joined by a veritable who’s who of the film and entertainment industry, with guests including (deep breath) Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Liv Tyler, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore, Julia Roberts, Demi Moore and Steven Spielberg (who just happens to be Gwyneth’s godfather). Notably, Gwyneth’s ex-husband Chris Martin was absent from proceedings (preview reports had gone so far as to speculate that Chris might walk Gwyneth down the aisle).

The biggest hint that the ‘engagement’ event might actually have been a wedding came courtesy of Gwyneth’s mother, actress Blythe Danner, who was photographed leaving the venue carrying a dress bag bearing the name Monique Lhuillier, the bridal designer favoured by the Hollywood set. It’s not outside the realms of possibility, then, that Gwyneth’s oxblood gown was just a very stylish decoy, and that the actress got changed inside, though the couple are yet to comment on the rumours.

Gwyneth and Brad confirmed their engagement back in January in an official statement given to Good Morning America, having been together for over three years.

‘We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship,’ they said.
