Have you ever wanted to look like Gwyneth Paltrow? Well, you’re in luck – as the Goop guru has detailed just how she prepared for the Met Gala. (You might make sure you have a spare thousand pounds knocking around first though.)
Writing in her Goop newsletter, Gwyneth – who wore a dreamy lemon Chloe chiffon dress - explained the beauty prep which went into her show-stopping look. She started proceedings the night before when she landed in New York from Boston, deciding to relax inGoop's 'The Martini' Emotional Detox Bath Soak ($35). 'I'd had a crazy day of meetings and flights and dinner, so I needed this bath,' she wrote. 'I take a bath every night, but I especially love "The Martini" when I've got a big event the next day. It's got five kinds of salt in it, amazing essential oils. It's just epic.' Before she went to bed, she then used Goop's Goopglow 15% Glycoloic Overnight Glow Peel ($125) (a complexion-boosting chemical peel, if the fancy name means nothing to you).
On the big day itself, the actress recommends starting with a cup filled with Goop's Goopglow Morning Skin Superpowder ($60) — containing grape-seed proanthocyanidins, vitamins C and E, and CoQ10 — and continuing to drink it throughout the day to leave your skin looking sparkling. She then cleansed and prepped her skin with a balm from Goop and Vintner's Daughter Active Treatment Essence($225) and a $185 serumfrom the same brand.
'I knew for the Met I was going to be wearing more makeup than I usually do — the plan was to go a little more intense with eyeliner— so feeling great about my skin was especially important,' she said, talking about her make-up look. 'I think the more make-up you're wearing, the more you want your natural glow to shine through.' Gwyneth’s make-up artist used Jillian Dempsey Khol Eyeliner pencil ($20) with Juice Beauty's Phyto-Pigments Liquid Line & Define liner($24) and Kjaer Weis eye shadow ($45) in shade Grace for her smoky eye, which was accompanied by blush and a pink lip balm. Finally, she sprayed herself with Goop's Eau De Parfum: Edition 02 - Shiso ($165).
