Gwyneth Paltrow might be a lifestyle guru, but even she needs help choosing what to line her bookshelves with.
In a typically Gwyneth move, it's been revealed that the actress enlisted the help of 'book curator' Thatcher Wine (what an incredible name) to find ‘five to six hundred books’ to fill the empty shelves when she renovated her Los Angeles home in 2001.
Speaking in a new interview withTown&Country, the bibliophile explained how he got the perfect mix of literature for the mum-of-two’s home.
‘I looked at books she already owned, which focused on fashion, art, culture, photography, and architecture, as well as books that her kids liked,’ he told the publication. ‘We expanded on those topics, and for the kids, we included a selection of classics that we thought they might like as they got older.’ Thatcher made sure that alongside the new additions, the books Gwyneth already owned were ‘easy to grab off the shelves’.
The celeb-book-chooser also told the magazine how Gwyneth keeps reading material in her dining room, and that he tried to organise the books in there to keep with a ‘rigid colour palette of black, white, and grey since it was less of a space where one might hang out and read’.
And the Oscar winning actress isn’t the only one who has hired the book curator. Thatcher has also worked with Laura Dern and Shonda Rhimes.
But, if you're not a celebrity, just how much would it cost to hire a personal book curator? Grazia Daily has reached out to Juniper books, the company Thatcher founded, to try and find out.
Somehow we can't imagine it'll be cheap.
