It’s hard to describe 2015 in a way that isn’t full of clichés. Ups and downs. Highs and lows. Sunshine and rain.
As a nation, we rejoiced in unison when Nadiya won Bake Off, mourned when Jon Snow was brutally betrayed on Game of Thrones and laughed our arses off at the ridiculousness that was Donald Trump’s hair.
While we’re reluctant to label feminism a trend, there’s no denying that gender equality was a hot topic in 2015. The year began with a bang, when in February Patricia Arquette used her Oscars acceptance speech to highlight the gender pay gap. Here at Grazia, our #EqualPay campaign success meant that for the first time big companies would have to publish what they paid their employees – an important first step on the road to eliminating a pay gap that sees women in the UK earn roughly 81% of what her male co-workers do.
It was a big year in the world of celebrity too. From heartbreaking splits to heroic Oscar victories, this was the year that saw the triumphant arrival of Caitlyn Jenner as well as the sad departure of stars like Cilla Black and Jackie Collins.
It’s time to test how much you remember from the last 12 months…
