Greetings Upper East Siders! Exciting news: we have our latest look at the Gossip Girl reboot. One thing that we have to get a grip on, though, is that this is Gossip Girl, but not as we know it. Deadline has revealed that actress Emily Alyn Lind will lead proceedings, but she is not playing Serena: she is playing a new character called Audrey. Blair, Chuck, Dan et al are a thing of the past. This is a whole new generation.

As the Emily recently told Dazed, 'We’re making a series in 2021. It’s really important for us to not just talk about (queer culture) but also express (it) as normal... It shouldn’t be this new, exciting thing to talk about, it just exists. It’s about normalising things that used to be different or taboo.'

Last month, images from the show's official Instagram page showed the group of gorgeous young actors on set. It was a welcome addition, following the paparazzi images of the cast shooting scenes on the front steps of beloved New York landmark, The Met, toward the end of last year.

This reincarnation is set to feature 10 hour-long episodes, which will be able to stream on streaming site HBO Max. One of the creators Joshua Safran revealed that the show will introduce a new generation of New York private school teens to the Gossip Girl site, telling the publication that, ‘the prestige series will address just how much social media – and the landscape of New York itself – has changed in the intervening years.’

The original series - based on Cecily von Ziegesar’s highly popular young adult novel - ran on The CW for six seasons from 2007 to 2012, starring Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgely, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford.

Take a look at who is starring in the reboot below.

Emily Alyn Lind

While she’s only 18, Emily has already appeared in Doctor Sleep, Revenge and in The Babysitter, and she starred in the Facebook Watch show Sacred Lies. In the new Gossip Girl, Emily's character ‘has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there.'

Tavi Gevinson

Blogging royalty and fashion icon Tavi is the most high profile member of the cast. She plays Kate Keller, and the Instagram account's labelling of her as representative of 'Ambition' gives us Georgina-style villain vibes.

Whitney Peak

Whitney has already starred in the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and played Idris Elba's daughter in Molly's Game. Now, she's growing up as Zoya Lott.

Eli Brown

Eli Brown is an actor as well as a singer-songwriter. His credits include spin-off series Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and a role in Netflix’s Spinning Out_,_ and his Gossip Girl character's name is Otto Bergmann.

Zion Moreno

We know that this is a reimagining, but if anyone is giving us Blair vibes, it's Zion. A brunette with a slightly preppy chic style, we think we'll be buying another headband soon. She plays Luna La.

Jordan Alexander

We know the beginnings of an obsession when we see one. Jordan's shaved head, her incredible style, her seemingly innate confidence: place your bets that she's going to be your 2021 crush. She's also a talented singer. Her character's name is Julien Calloway.

Savannah Lee Smith

Braids? Chanel? A beautiful smile? This is a Gossip Girl icon for contemporary viewers. We are astounded. This is Savannah's first role. We know she's playing a character named Monet de Haan, but that's it for now...

Evan Mock

This pink-haired, sharp-cheekboned actor hails from Hawaii. There's definitely something about him that screams 'New Dan', but we're just going off his super cool social media presence. His character's name is Akeno.

Jason Gotay

Thirty-year-old Jason is a Broadway star, previously performing in__ Bring It On__ and Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark.

Johnathan Fernandez

Johnathan played Bernard for three seasons in Lethal Weapon, but he's also appeared in Girls, Younger, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and many more. The 46-year-old actor also has a forthcoming film called Togetherish.
