Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike Should Be The Next Bond, Says Ed Miliband

She’s proved her wiles, and looks great in a suit…

Rosamund Pike Bond

While very many people have cast, in their heads, Ed Miliband as Wallace from Wallace and Gromit, or even Mr Bean, he’s got his own casting decision. Rosamund Pike from Gone Girl as the next James Bond.

He told Magic FM: ‘I think she’s a great British actress, she’d make a great Bond.’

‘This is 2015, I think we can move with the times.’

After Gone Girl, we sure know that Rosamund’s got the wiles and the cooly exterior to play a suave, sophisticated killer. And the briefest of Google image searches tells us she looks great in a suit. However, we’d like to think her Bond would have no use for all of Q’s fancy gadgets but will be much more resourceful with what's around her.

Now Ed’s suggested it, we eagerly await all of the ‘Bond can’t be a woman, the UK’s going to the dogs’ opinion pieces. Because they’ll tell us exactly who’s on the wrong and right side of logic; female spies helped win World War Two, so why shouldn’t we have a female Bond?

And as for his other interests? If you’re interested, he is ‘a bit of an 80s fan’ and likes ‘ bad taste’ songs like Take on Me by A-Ha (if you never heard this at a uni cheese night, you’ll remember the cover by A1)

‘I'm aware of both Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith,’ which is actually good progress for the leader of a party, considering Nigel Farage last week admitted he doesn’t even listen to music, watch TV or read books.

Miliband continued: ‘I've heard them on radio and both of them are huge exports - they're great artists.’

‘It's brilliant we have a great number of great British artists, it makes us incredibly proud.’
