Good news for royal fans - and even those who aren't but still watch it anyway - Netflix's The Crown was the biggest TV winner at this year's Golden Globes{
Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin landed the Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series and Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series, respectively, for their tumultuous on-screen relationship as Prince Charles and Princess Diana{
On the big night, Emma didn't let the lack of red carpet spoil her outfit choice - in fact, quite the opposite. It was an award-winning look for the new award-winning actress. Collaborating with her stylist Harry Lambert (who also works with Harry Styles and fellow Golden Globe winner, Corrin’s friend and co-star, Josh O’Connor), the duo opted for a custom Miu Miu dress for the occasion complete with a huge frilled collar and shoulder pads.
Many critics praised Emma for her part playing Diana in the series, with many saying her performance was the first time the Princess has been portrayed somewhat accurately on screen. And in her acceptance speech, Emma paid tribute to the late Diana. 'Most of all, thank you so much to Diana,' she said. 'You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure that I could ever imagine. On behalf of everyone who remembers you so fondly and passionately in our hearts, thank you.'
Other British stars to win last night included John Boyega, Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike. Lockdown favourite The Queen's Gambit also won Best Limited Series, Anthology or Film Made For TV, with lead actress Anya Taylor-Joy winning Best Actress In A Limited Series, Anthology or Film For TV.
