Can you imagine an American Absolutely Fabulous? Well, you don’t have to, because it actually exists. Well, a pilot of the show exists, and Zosia Mamet, her from off of Girls, played Saffy in it!

In an interview the actress revealed that she had a part in the show, but it unfortunately didn't get off the ground, ‘I played Saffy. It was a dream come true. I’d seen the British series on video and really loved it. It was a shame it never got made into a series.’

On the plus side, it meant that she could play Shoshanna in Girls, one of our all-time favourite characters, especially after last night's truth-bomb-laden showdown.

When asked about the odd lines show creator Lena Dunham writes for her, Zosia (pronouned Zo-sha) replied, ‘I love what’s going on in Lena’s mind. I never know what’s going to come out of my mouth as Shoshanna, it’s like an out-of-body thing. She’s got so little filter on what she says, it all just comes tumbling out.’

But, of course, Zosia thinks a lot more carefully than Shosanna about what she says, that's how she managed to explain why Girls is so magic/tragic in a way that we've never heard explained before. When asked if Girls is an accurate representation of young people today, she replied, ‘This generation was brought up to get whatever they wanted. We’ve been brought up without a sense of rebellion and with technology that means you can follow what your friends are doing all the time.’

‘It gives a false sense of individuality. I think Girls is the first show to explore how this generation is adjusting to that,’ she told The Metro.

OK, cool. We’re putting it out there, we'll totally forget about that whole naff Kickstarter debacle if it means we increase our chances of becoming BFFs with Zosia.
