Update 2/4: Mel B has reportedly branded Geri a liar for denying their sexual relationship. "Mel is totally perplexed by Geri’s denials," a source told **The Mirror**on Monday night. "Mel feels Geri is making her out to be a liar. She said, 'It’s almost as if she is trying to erase our history.'"
Geri Halliwell has denied that she had sex with Mel B,after Scary Spice said the pair slept together in an interview with Piers Morgan. Over a week after the claim was made, the popstar has said she feels ‘hurt’ by what Mel said. “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days,” Geri’s rep wrote yesterday, in a statement issued to MailOnline.
However, the star added that she is excited to head on the girls’ comeback tour. “Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanieand Victoria [Beckham],” the spokesperson added. “She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family. Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”
The statement is set to reassure claims that the tour has been thrown into jeopardy by Mel’s no-holds-barred chat on Piers Morgan.
It also comes after the Mail on Sundayreported yesterday that the bandmates had been in a relationship for a year. A friend of the band reportedly said: "They were together in every sense of the word. They were brought together through the circumstances of being in the band but their living arrangements in Maidenhead meant that they had lots of time alone.”
In the chat on Piers Morgan's Life Stories, Mel replied to Piers' questioning if she had a sexual relationship with Geri, saying: “We were best friends. It just happened. Have you ever done that?”
