As a new dad to twins, George Clooney is learning the ropes of parenthood, discovering – as most parents do – many unexpected things along the way.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, George said of his twin children, Alexander and Ella, 'I'm so excited', and when asked what the most surprising thing about parenthood was, the 56-year old actor replied: 'How much I thought I had in control and how little control I actually have.'
'I have none!' he added. 'I think everybody quickly realises that.'

George was speaking from the red carpet of the premiere of his new film Suburbicon at the Toronto Film Festival yesterday. George directed and co-wrote the crime comedy movie which stars his long-tome friend Matt Damon, and Julianne Moore.
Amal Clooney did not accompany her husband to the soiree, but she was by his side for the premiere of the same film at the Venice Film Festival the week before.
The pair made their first major public appearance in the Italian city following the birth of their 3-month-old children. It's a place that holds special memories for the couple, as it was the location of their wedding back in September 2014. On the festival red carpet, George looked dapper in black tie, whilst Amal was the epitome of glamour in a lilac Armani gown.
In an interview published yesterday in Paris Match George also revealed why he and his wife decided to give their children traditional names.
'[We] didn’t want to give them one of those ridiculous Hollywood names that don’t mean anything,' he said, as reported by [PEOPLE][(http://people.com/babies/george-clooney-didnt-want-to-name-twins-ridiculous-hollywood-names/). 'They’ll already have enough difficulty bearing the weight of their celebrity.'
How sensible! We wouldn't have expected anything less from one of our favourite Hollywood couples.
