The Clooneys, who got married 27th September 2014, celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary yesterday. The day before, on Thursday, human rights lawyer Amal addressed diplomats at the United Nations in New York. For years, Amal has been representing Yazidi women who were taken captive by ISIS in Iraq.
In the evening, the couple met up with supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber for a double date dinner. Amal traded her smart suit for a white corset and chic black leather paper bag trousers, while George kept it casual in some washed blue jeans, a black shirt and sailor-beard. The couple were then spotted in New York’s West Village on Friday, seemingly on a date to mark the actual date of their anniversary. Amal was dressed in black and pink with knee-high boots while George just about avoided an outfit repeat, swapping the previous night’s black shirt for a blue polo.
The Clooneys were married at Ca’ Farsetti, a palace in Italy, by former mayor of Rome Walter Veltroni and has a star-studded guestlist that included names such as Vogue US editor Anna Wintour and actor Robert De Niro and Matt Damon. George and Amal have two children together, twins Ella and Alexander, who were born in 2017.
