We didn't see this coming.

Yesterday afternoon, it was announced that George and Amal Clooney finally welcomed twins. And the last person to have visited the A-list couple was none other than the former President of the United States.

According to People, Barack Obama paid a visit to their estate in Sonning on May 27, just a week before Amal gave birth. "Obama arrived around 7:15 in the evening [local time] and left at around 11:30," a source revealed.

Though we don't know what happened behind closed doors, we imagine Obama had some parenting tips to hand.

And it's hardly surprising that the former president paid a visit, as the pair have enjoyed a decade-long friendship.

Back in 2012, Obama described Clooney as a 'wonderful guy' while his wife Michelle admitted that she finds the actor, 'cute'. Even two years before presidency, Obama teamed up with Clooney in Washington, D.C. to campaign against genocide in Darfur, Sudan.

The former president had a busy week too, as he also paid a visit to Kensington Palace, as he was pictured meeting with Prince Harry.
