If you’re on season 2 or something ridiculous like that, shield your eyes because there will be spoilers in this article. Oh and while you’re at it, go home and watch the rest because who are you?!
My first thoughts as the new Game of Thrones season 6 trailer dropped where: ‘do I want to watch this?’ ‘Will it help me sleep at night or will I be kept up in a confused dazed, worrying about Jon Snows fate YET again?’ The answer is yes, of bloody course I’ll be kept up worrying, but obviously I watched it anyway because I’m human.
The song in itself (Wicked Games performed by James Vincent McMorrow) was enough to send me into a weeping mess at my desk, it’s emotional okay. Then Jon Snowcomes into the picture. Dead. On the floor. Surrounded by his own blood. It’s not looking good alright and I can’t handle it.
Jamie Lanister goes on to tell Cersei than they are the only ones that matter…cough Ayra, cough Tyrion cough. But still, Cersei is totally rocking the short hair.
Daenerys comes into the trailer looking tired and pretty dirty (covered in dirt, no in the sexual way, guys) but still, totally babeing because, well, she’s Emilia Clarke. Tyrion Lanister tells a powerful looking Sansa that she’s: ‘in the great game now, and the great game is terrifying.’ Can’t the old Tyrion come back, the one that drank and laughed – he’s so dark and brooding now and it’s not okay. Can’t they all just get alone and play scrabble or something?
Cersei chooses violence, Ayra gets slapped and has weird creepy white walker eyes, Jon Snow is there but we don’t know if he’s dead or alive because he’s wearing armour but it looks like a funeral or something. A lot happens in 1 minute and 41 seconds, too much to take in on a rainy Wednesday at work.
Having watched the trailer a total of 8 times, I still don’t have a clue what’s going on, but it’s given me chills every.single.time. Roll on 24th, it’s only 46 days away and I’ve put it in my dairy.
