Gal Gadot, the actress who harnesses Amazonian power as Wonder Woman, is using her force for good in real life as the coronavirus pandemic becomes an international crisis. Yesterday, the star posted a video of herself - and her celebrity friends - singing John Lennon's iconic song of togetherness, Imagine, with the intention of assuring the world that we will all get through this together. Gal adds that she has been in isolation for six days, with the pandemic and its results making her feel 'philosophical.'

Celebrities involved included Mark Ruffalo, Cara Delevingne, Natalie Portman, Amy Adams - who starred with Gal in DC's superhero film Justice League - Will Ferrell, Jamie Dornan, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Zoë Kravitz, James Mardsen, Leslie Odom Jr and Sia.

Most found it uplifting, and the video topped trending lists in the US. Not everyone was touched, though. 'Oh a bunch of multi millionaires made a video of themselves singing?', said one Twitter user.

Gal's intentions are certainly good, but as celebrities reach out and use their platform to cheer people up, it may be justifiable to suggest that they also encourage those who can to donate to charities who are fighting to tackle the effects of the crisis, or support businesses in trouble.

Then again, spreading positivity is a kind act in itself, especially in light of stars like Vanessa Hudgens, who has apologised after calling the death of the elderly 'inevitable.' Maybe celebrities doing good is an eternal case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't.'

Celebrities who have tested positive for coronavirus include Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson, Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and actor Idris Elba.
