While we might have all been binge watching Friends (again) in quarantine - we have all been waiting for the reunion Now, we might have an idea of when it’s finally going__ to hit our screens, 16 years after the last episode aired.

‘At first we thought, shows will be delayed for a month or two at the most, and now it seems like it’s going to be far longer than that,’ WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman Bob Greenblatt admitted toVariety.{ =nofollow}But he added the news we’ve all been hoping for, that the show could be happening sooner rather than later… ‘We’re holding out for being able to get this special done hopefully by the end of the summer, if the stars align and hopefully we can get back into production.’

The chairman continued, saying that the production team didn’t want to opt for a Zoom reunion (unlike the cast of Parks and Recreation, who reunited for a web call episode). He continued: ‘We do think there’s a value to having a big, raucous live audience to experience these six great friends coming back together and we didn’t want to just suddenly do it on a web call with, you know, six squares and people shooting from their kitchens and bedrooms.’

The reunion - starring Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston{ =nofollow}, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry - is set to air on HBO Max, and the filming will take place on the now-iconic Warner Brothers lot in LA where the sitcom filmed its entire 10-year run. Excitingly, the show’s creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane are also on board.
