Who even cares that it’s Kanye’s Glasto debut in just over a week - because in less than 24-hours Foo Fighters have pulled out and their amazing replacement has been announced, reports The Guardian. Enter Florence + the Machine, who have just soared straight to the top of the bill on Friday night's Pyramid Stage line-up after Foo frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg during a concert in Sweden last week.
Proving she's even more deserving of the headline slot, Florence Welch is recovering from her own broken ankle after a misjudged stage dive at Coachella back in April. However, fractured body parts weren't going to stop her from fulfilling a long-held Glasto dream. 'I remember being 20 at the Glastonbury festival,' Welch told Billboard. 'I remember looking at the Pyramid Stage and thinking, "I wish I could perform there just one time."'
Unlike the Foo Fighters who have cancelled a string of tour dates, Florence + the Machine have continued to perform – with an albeit more 'static' show. 'By the time Glastonbury rolls around I should be back on my feet,' she said in a previous statement to fans. 'This album was so much about making something from what was broken, so let's see what we can do with this.' N’awww.
This latest good news has got us reminiscing about Flo’s incredible set at the Somerset festival back in 2009, watch it below...
